The Lyric Road Archive is an ongoing investigation. At this point it is the initial stage of an archive, which seeks to collect, document, and talk about objects that exist within a particular setting- the domestic setting of the home.
Over a month in February 2009, each of the five flatmates of the house were asked to select items that they owned and displayed within the house. These items were photographed both individually and exactly as they exist in situ, and the basic provenance of the object was collated.In the interest of recording exactly what the owner’s feelings were about their objects, interviews were taken, and are presented as oral histories.

The Lyric Road Archive will serve to further research into the potential desire for online, shared archives for people’s personal collections.
